Consumer Survey Results

 

The Consumer Survey is a province-wide survey of people who have recently bought a new or nearly new home and those who are considering buying a home in the near future. The survey covers:

  • Satisfaction with the residential builder licensing system
  • Satisfaction with the home warranty insurance system, and
  • Consumer opinions relating to the appropriate level of consumer protection for homebuyers in the province.

Licensed Residential Builder Survey Results

The Licensed Residential Builder Survey is a province-wide quantitative survey covering:

  • Satisfaction with the residential builder licensing system
  • Satisfaction with the home warranty insurance system
  • Perceptions related to the completed research and education projects, and
  • Identification of research and education priorities for the industry.

Ownerbuilder Survey Results 2006

The 2006 Ownerbuilder Survey is a province-wide survey of people who have built or have subsequently purchased a home with an ownerbuilder exemption issued in 2004. The survey covers such items as:

  • Level of experience and training of ownerbuilders in the building industry
  • Satisfaction and level of knowledge with the ownerbuilder exemption process and obligations, and 
  • Perceptions and experiences of subsequent purchasers of ownerbuilt homes.
