Funded by the Government of Canada and the Province of British Columbia, Home Adaptations for Independence (HAFI) is a new program developed by BC Housing to help low-income seniors and people with disabilities finance home modifications for accessible, safe and independent living.

The program is administered by the Homeowner Protection Office, a branch of BC Housing. HAFI provides homeowners and landlords with eligible tenants with financial assistance for home adaptations such as handrails in hallways or stairways, ramps for ease of access, easy to reach work areas in the kitchen or bath-tub grab bars.

The HAFI program was created through the new Canada-BC Affordable Housing Agreement in July 2011.
