British Columbia’s new Homeowner Protection Amendment Act strengthens protection for new homebuyers and is a major step forward in raising the bar of professionalism in the residential construction sector. These legislative changes are the result of extensive consultation by the HPO with industry groups, local government, consumers and members of the public. The residential construction industry and consumer groups have welcomed the changes which will help the homebuilding industry serve its customers better and give homebuyers the confidence they need.
