Building Smart #16 - Preparing Sector for Changes to the Building Code
The new 2012 BC Building Code is coming soon with key changes that will affect the residential construction industry. To help the sector prepare, the HPO is offering Building Smart #16: 2012 Code Changes – Safety, Efficiency and Sustainability.
These seminars, presented by Murray Frank of Constructive Home Solutions, are being given in communities across the province from now until May 31. (Click here for locations and dates.)
Feedback on the series thus far has been positive. “Your seminars are beneficial for the industry,” wrote one attendee. “Excellent work in enunciating… technical concepts; high quality supporting graphics,” commented another.
This Building Smart seminar is one of the first looks at the official language in the new Building Code. It is tailored to focus on regional requirements to ensure attendees receive the relevant changes to building codes and by-laws that will have the highest impact on their projects.
Building Smart #16 was developed by the HPO in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing’s Building and Safety Standards Branch, FPInnovations, Canadian Home Builders’ Association of BC, Building Officials’ Association of BC, and the City of Vancouver.
