New Videos Educate Homeowners about the Importance of Maintenance
A new series of online videos can help condo and townhouse owners learn more about protecting their investment. The videos are also a great educational tool for builders and their clients. Read more.
Compliance and Enforcement Update – Administrative Penalties
An important part of the work the HPO does to administer the Homeowner Protection Act (the “Act”) and protect consumers is to ensure compliance with its requirements. The HPO uses a combination of education and awareness, voluntary compliance and enforcement to administer the Act. In situations where voluntary compliance cannot be achieved, the HPO may issue administrative penalties. Read more.
New Video Explains Owner Builder Authorization System
The HPO has developed a short educational video on the Owner Builder Authorization (OBA) system. The video, which is playing at the Building Smart #16 seminars and is available online, explains how the HPO administers and monitors Owner Builder Authorizations in order to ensure appropriate competition in the marketplace while protecting the interests of home buyers.
