Windows: Performance, Selection and Installation

Builders in all regions of the province are faced with many options when it comes to window selection and installation for the homes they build. The 2008 Spring Building Smart seminar series will provide practical information to assist in making informed decisions that consider a number of aspects related to windows in wood frame construction.

The three-hour seminar will cover:

• window frame construction and a comparison of performance factors for various window materials
• glazing options and performance coatings
• window performance, energy efficiency, codes, standards, testing and certification, and
• integration of windows into the surrounding exterior wall assembly with consideration for the required continuity of the first and second planes of protection.

Developed in collaboration with the Window and Door Manufacturers Association of British Columbia, the seminar will be presented in 21 communities across the province. The $25 registration fee includes a presentation guide and a certificate of completion. Register online today.
