Looking Ahead: Minimum Qualifications for Residential Builders

Responding to the desire by industry associations to enhance professionalism in residential construction, the HPO is involved in a collaborative process with industry to develop a new system of qualifications for licensees under the Homeowner Protection Act.
The Main Task Group Report to the Homeowner Protection Office: Results of a Collaborative Process to Design a Minimum Qualification System for Licenses Under the Homeowner Protection Act provides a summary of the issues discussed as part of the collaborative process and the resulting consensus on what the new system of qualifications for residential builder licensees would look like.
