Enforcement Actions

Enforcement of the Homeowner Protection Act is one of the HPO’s key functions as it works to protect buyers of new homes in B.C. The Act provides the HPO’s compliance team with a variety of tools to carry out its regulatory role. This includes reviewing and monitoring Owner Builder Authorizations, ensuring residential builders (including developers) have current licences, and ensuring new homes carry home warranty insurance throughout construction.
