Survey Provides Snapshot of Builder Perceptions
During 2010, the HPO reported on its highly-anticipated, province-wide survey of Licensed Residential Builders (LRBs) conducted in November 2009.
Providing a snapshot in time, the survey results give the HPO a read on the perceptions of LRBs, provide valuable insights to help ensure that HPO programs reflect industry needs, and evaluate builder satisfaction with the residential builder licensing and home warranty insurance systems.
Survey Highlights
• A large majority (nine in ten) of B.C.’s residential builders are highly satisfied with the HPO’s residential builder licensing system (86%)
• Residential builders continue to have a positive relationship with their warranty providers (80%)
• The HPO’s compliance efforts are regarded as more effective than in previous years (80%)
• As in 2007, residential builders strongly believe more education and training in all areas are needed for the residential construction industry
