HPO Recognized for Sustainability for Reduced Paper Use
Paper is one of the biggest consumption items in large organizations. Like many public sector organizations, the HPO is conscientiously reducing the amount of paper it uses.
In its Live Smart BC Carbon Neutral Report, the government recognized the HPO and its online system which allows information to be shared online, reducing a heavy flow of paper.
Previous registration, application and renewal processes used a minimum of 106,000 pages per year. Stakeholders would contribute another 11,000 paper documents. Given the new online services, licensing and registration related paper documents have been completely eliminated, and builders and others have cut their HPO-related paper consumption by 75%.
